Fun Ways to Celebrate the 4th of July Around the Valley

The 4th of July is such a fun time to enjoy everything we love about summer in Arizona—time with family and friends, backyard BBQs, fireworks, pool days, and community celebrations all across the Valley.

Whether you’re looking for a big fireworks show, a family-friendly event, or a low-key night at home “enjoying your mortgage,” there are so many ways to make the holiday feel special.

Here are a few fun 4th of July ideas around town, broken down by area:

East Valley

Mesa — Arizona Celebration of Freedom

Mesa’s Arizona Celebration of Freedom is one of the largest free Independence Day celebrations in the state. This event includes live entertainment, patriotic displays, family activities, food vendors, and fireworks to end the night.

Chandler — All-American Bash

Downtown Chandler is a great place to celebrate with live music, yard games, food vendors, and a patriotic pyrotechnic show. This is a fun option for families looking for a classic 4th of July celebration in the East Valley.

Gilbert — 4th of July Celebration

Gilbert’s celebration is another great family-friendly option. Head to Gilbert Regional Park for live entertainment, activities, a drone show, and a fireworks finale.

Queen Creek — Hometown 4th at Schnepf Farms

Schnepf Farms is always a favorite for families, and the 4th of July is no exception. With food trucks, craft vendors, rides, water inflatables, live entertainment, and fireworks, it’s a great option if you want something festive with a small-town feel.

West Valley

Peoria — All-American Festival

Peoria’s All-American Festival at Peoria Sports Complex is a popular West Valley event with live music, food, family activities, and fireworks. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a full evening of entertainment.

Avondale — Light Up the Sky

Hosted at Phoenix Raceway, Avondale’s Light Up the Sky event includes food trucks, exhibitors, games in the Kid Zone, live music, and a big fireworks show. It’s a fun, high-energy option for families in the West Valley.

Buckeye — Independence Day Celebration

Buckeye’s Independence Day Celebration is a West Valley favorite with food, family-friendly activities, and fireworks at Buckeye Airport. This is a great pick if you’re looking for a true community celebration.

Surprise — Independence Day Celebration

Surprise also offers a fun option for those on the northwest side of the Valley. Expect fireworks, community fun, and a festive atmosphere for the whole family.

Scottsdale

Scottsdale 4th of July at WestWorld

Scottsdale’s 4th of July celebration at WestWorld is always a fun one, especially for families. With indoor activities, entertainment, and fireworks to end the night, it’s a great way to celebrate while staying a little cooler.

Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Freedom Fest

For a resort-style celebration, the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Freedom Fest is hard to beat. Expect fireworks, live entertainment, poolside fun, and plenty of patriotic flair. This is a great option if you want to make the holiday feel like a mini staycation.

Phoenix

Fabulous Phoenix 4th

Fabulous Phoenix 4th is one of the Valley’s signature Independence Day events. Hosted at Steele Indian School Park, this event includes live music, food vendors, a kids zone, activities, and fireworks.

Keep It Simple at Home

Sometimes the best 4th of July plans are the simplest ones. Fire up the grill, make homemade ice cream, invite neighbors over, play yard games, and enjoy a slower evening with family and friends.

And honestly? There’s nothing wrong with staying home and “enjoying your mortgage.” Some of the best memories are made right in your own backyard.

Tempe

Tempe 4th of July Celebration

Tempe’s 4th of July Celebration is another great option for families. This year’s celebration is at Tempe Diablo Stadium and includes food, cold treats, family fun, and fireworks.

Final Thoughts

No matter where you are in the Valley, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the 4th of July—from big fireworks shows and community events to backyard BBQs and quiet nights at home.

However you choose to celebrate, I hope your day is filled with good food, good people, and a little red, white, and blue.

Wishing you and your family a safe, fun, and memorable 4th of July!
